Tutor:
Tutors are trained to tutor Basic Reading and English as a Second Language students to help foster their personal growth by enabling them to achieve broader personal and professional goals.
Most tutors dedicate 2 - 4 hours a week to the program. Tutors usually meet with students at the bookstore or their local library once or twice a week for 1-hour sessions. At home, they spend 1-2 hours creating lesson plans appropriate for their students' level and needs.
In-services and workshops for continuing education and support of tutors are provided on a continuing basis.
Curriculum materials, workbooks, advice and supportive smiles are always available to all tutors in the LVSCNY office at 63 North Street in Monticello.
